Understanding Diamonds
Diamonds are commonly evaluated using the 4Cs: carat, cut, colour and clarity. These characteristics work together; no single grade describes the complete appearance of a diamond.
Carat
Carat is a unit of weight. Two diamonds of the same carat weight can look different depending on proportions and cut.
Cut
Cut influences how effectively a faceted diamond handles light and therefore contributes strongly to brilliance and sparkle.
Colour & Clarity
Colour grading describes the presence or absence of body colour, while clarity considers internal and external characteristics visible under standardized assessment.
